Two MBS parishioners were recently awarded the Spirit of Kateri Award at Camp Tekakwitha this summer. Each week, Camp Tekakwitha staff awards the Spirit of Kateri Award to a few exceptional campers in recognition of their leadership, love of Christ, embodiment of our Camp theme, and dedication to serving their fellow campers and friends at Camp Tekakwitha. These campers are chosen from among 160 campers each week, nominated by their counselors and selected by the staff!

Join a small group this Fall to explore the unique spiritual gifts (charisms) God has given you through prayer, reflection, and community. Meets twice a month, September–December. Space is limited—RSVP by September 5.

Going to Confession can be scary, especially if you have not been for a long time, but over time not going can make you feel trapped or burdened. Restored is an option for anyone who needs some help to be comfortable coming to the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

A four-part series of events for Most Blessed Sacraments volunteer ministers to strengthen their spiritual lives for healthier ministry in the parish, featuring adoration, guest speakers, small group discussions, and refreshments.

The pastors of Oshkosh, along with the Cemetery Administrator, are seeking your help to ensure that the Catholic Cemeteries of Oshkosh: Calvary Cemetery, Riverside Catholic Cemetery, and Sacred Heart Cemetery, stay beautiful and serenely sacred. There will be a second collection next weekend, May 24-25, to support the cemeteries. More information on how you can help can be found on our website at mbsoshkosh.com/stewardship.

The weekends of April 26-27 and May 3-4, we will have members of the pastoral parish council speak at the beginning of Mass to invite you to nominate either yourself or someone else for the parish pastoral council. We currently have two openings. One is a member at large, which means it is not connected to a team. One is a representative of the Liturgy and Encounter team.

The MBS Outreach Mission Teams thanks you for helping us meet our Almsgiving goal of $15,000. We are beyond grateful and look forward to being able to continue serving the poorest and neediest in our parish community.  Stay tuned for more information on how these funds are used. 

Students at WIT/WIN Academy recently named the Mission Center pantry “St. Peter’s Caring Closet,” where they can select needed items each month and earn rewards for good behavior. As the pantry grows, students will take on responsibility for maintaining it. Needs include donations and volunteers.

Our Annual Almsgiving Fund allows our parish to continue helping the poorest of the poor and those in need in our parish and community. As of March 17, we have collected $4,423.56 towards our goal of $15,000.

La Sagrada Familia “Ellos no entendieron la respuesta que les dio.” María y José acababan de experimentar la peor pesadilla de todo padre: su hijo se desapareció por TRES DÍAS, mientras lo buscaban, preguntaban por él y volvían a seguir los pasos de su viaje. Imaginen su alivio cuando regresaron al Templo y por fin lo vieron. Seguramente corrieron hacia él con alegría y exasperación, solo para escuchar su respuesta: “¿Por qué me andaban buscando?” ¿Por qué? ¡¿POR QUÉ?!

Feast of the Holy Family. Mary and Joseph have just experienced every parent's worst nightmare: their son was missing for THREE DAYS, as they searched and asked and retraced the steps of their journey. Imagine their relief when they returned to the Temple and saw him at last. Surely they ran to him with joy and exasperation, only to hear his answer, “Why were you looking for me?” Why? WHY?!

El Nacimiento del Señor Últimamente me ha llamado mucho la atención la realidad de quienes presenciaron los milagros que Jesús realizó en los Evangelios. ¡Qué sorprendidos debieron estar los discípulos al ver a Jesús resucitar a alguien de entre los muertos! ¡Qué atónitos debieron estar la muchedumbre al ver a un hombre lisiado simplemente levantarse y caminar! ¡Sin duda, no ves esas cosas todos los días!

Cuarto Domingo de Adviento Hay una canción navideña que dice de Belén: “Pero en tus calles oscuras brilla la luz eterna”. Belén es un suburbio de Jerusalén. Su principal atracción turística en la época de Jesús era que era el lugar de nacimiento de David. Aunque hoy tiene muchas casas y edificios modernos, todavía se puede ver que es “un pueblo de las montañas de Judea” (Lc 1,39). No está muy lejos de En Kerem, donde nació Juan el Bautista, y aparentemente donde toma lugar el Evangelio de hoy.
