This year we will again hold our annual Almsgiving fundraiser with a goal of $15,000.
The fund, aptly named the “Works of Mercy” fund, was formed by the Outreach Team and provides for mission-focused needs with individuals and organizations in our community such as:
OASD WIT/WIN Program: Basic hygiene, clothing, and cleaning supplies are provided monthly to students attending this alternative schooling option for children with behaviors in our Mission Center.
Tiny House Village: Welcome baskets for each new resident or family moving into the Village include cleaning supplies, dish and hand towels, as well as other needed items upon request from the Tiny House Coordinator.
St. Vincent de Paul: MBS collaborates with SVDP to provide rental and utility assistance to individuals who have fallen behind due to job loss, illness, or other situations.
Oshkosh Correctional Institute: MBS purchases new Catholic Bibles and other Catholic resources for residents at the prison facility.
In addition to the above, Most Blessed Sacrament continues to assist the neediest of the needy in our community by helping with hygiene supplies, clothing, and food needs on a case-by-case basis.
We encourage you to fast and pray for these Works of Mercy by spiritually adopting one of the above organizations. You may pick up a prayer card at the entrances of our worship sites as a reminder to call upon the Holy Spirit through the intercession of Our Lady of Champion, St. Francis Xavier and St. Therese of Lisieux, the patroness of missions.
