As Catholics, we believe that love and prayer don’t end when someone dies. Our connection to those who have gone before us continues in Christ, and our prayers can still help them on their journey to heaven.
When we pray for loved ones who have died, we’re asking God to bring them fully into His presence and to give them the peace and joy of eternal life. It’s one of the simplest and most loving things we can do for them.
Attend or Request a Mass Intention for someone who has died. The Mass is the most powerful prayer of the Church and a special way to entrust them to God’s mercy. Learn more
Say a Short Daily Prayer such as “Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,” or remember them by name in your own words.
Other prayers include the Rosary for the Holy Souls and the St. Gertrude Prayer

Do an Act of Kindness in memory of someone you love. A simple act of charity or service can be a meaningful prayer from the heart.
When we pray for the dead, we’re not only helping them, we’re reminding ourselves of the hope we share in Jesus’ promise of new life. One day, we trust we’ll be reunited with them in the presence of God.
At Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, we remember and pray for those who have died throughout the year. In November especially, we hold our yearly Mass of Remembrance and invite you to add a loved one's name to our parish Book of the Dead.
