Our parish's current Secretary Trustee, Dave Lelinksi, has reached the end of his 2 year term. Nominations are being accepted through October 19, 2025 for the upcoming Secretary Trustee election.
Two MBS parishioners were recently awarded the Spirit of Kateri Award at Camp Tekakwitha this summer. Each week, Camp Tekakwitha staff awards the Spirit of Kateri Award to a few exceptional campers in recognition of their leadership, love of Christ, embodiment of our Camp theme, and dedication to serving their fellow campers and friends at Camp Tekakwitha. These campers are chosen from among 160 campers each week, nominated by their counselors and selected by the staff!
The weekends of April 26-27 and May 3-4, we will have members of the pastoral parish council speak at the beginning of Mass to invite you to nominate either yourself or someone else for the parish pastoral council. We currently have two openings. One is a member at large, which means it is not connected to a team. One is a representative of the Liturgy and Encounter team.
In April and May of 2024, Fr. Jerry identified a key strategic goal for our parish: By 2027, we will identify and double the number of missionary disciples in our parish who are discipling at least two others. This month, Fr. Jerry shared one of the steps the parish has outlined toward how we will work to achieve that goal.
Our parish's current Treasurer Trustee, Dave Van Spankeren, has reached the end of his term/ It is time to elect our Parish Treasurer Trustee for the next two fiscal years. This person should be an active and responsible missionary disciple from our parish who can serve as an advisor and counselor.
The Trustee is part of the corporate board, serves on the Finance Council, and with the Finance Council assures that records of all parish property, property tax documents and parish inventory are maintained by appropriate personnel. If you know someone who would be a good fit for this role, please submit that name in writing to Father Jerry for his consideration.
Father will have information about the nominees for the parish to consider at Masses in November and elections will take place the weekend of November 23 & 24.
As part of our strategic planning process, Fr. Jerry, the Parish Pastoral Council, and the parish staff participated in a session to discern our core values on April 25th. Core values are part of the cultural glue that holds an organization together over time and they guide practices and decisions.
On Saturday, April 20, key leaders from the parish gathered to develop the first draft of goals for each Mission Team that will form the foundation of our 5 year Strategic Plan.
We had about 50 people respond to the online survey or attend one of the in-person listening sessions. There were lively discussions at the in person sessions that generated many strengths and opportunities for our parish as well as pointing out areas in which we can improve.
As part of our parish strategic planning process, Burning Hearts Disciples is facilitating input sessions to allow our community to dream and pray together about where the Holy Spirit is leading us. The sessions will also gather insights on the parish's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats and share data gathered by the diocese and the parish leadership.
Over the past months, Fr. Jerry and our parish leadership - including the newly formed parish pastoral council - have prayerfully discerned and decided to initiate a strategic planning process to guide us into a future filled with purpose, clarity of mission, and abundant life and growth.

On Feast of Corpus Christi - the Solemnity of The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ - we celebrate the charisms and gifts particular to our parish.
